Ark Student Care Centre Staff

We believe that every child is an individual and we treat each child with proper respect. While we are concerned with their academic development, the teachers and staff are more concerned with their behavioural and character development. An environment plays a vital role in your child’s development as it influences his/her attitude and mindset. ARK provides an affirming and cheerful environment for child to be in.

As a VWO, a member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), we are invited to attend short courses relating to children and youth issues by Social Service Institute (SSI). In addition, most of our staff are certified in Standard First-Aid with CPR and AED to ensure the safety of the children.

The teacher-child ratio is 1:25, complying with the guidelines by MSF. This ratio ensures that the teacher can offer adequate attention to every child, thereby meeting their educational and emotional needs. Such an arrangement also allows the teacher to foster stronger bonds with each unique individual.

Assistant facilitators

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead

Our group of committed assistant facilitators have been a great support to our facilitators and students at ARK. Juggling the demands of classroom instruction, routine care, academic help, and giving all students the individualized attention they need. It can be a load that is hard to bear alone. With the presence of our assistant facilitators, they work closely with the main facilitator to reinforce meeting of learning objective and building relationships with students.

Most of our staff are certified in Standard First-Aid with CPR and AED to ensure the safety of the children. As a VWO, a member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), we are invited to attend short courses relating to children and youth issues by Social Service Institute (SSI).

We believe that when you do things with passion, magic happens!

In ARK, other than academic development we are also concerned with the child’s behavioural and character development. The environmental factors in childhood are influential in establishing their personalities in their adulthood and therefore ARK strives to provide a safe, affirming and positive environment for our children.
